Magickal Remains

Dear Reader: Happy Earth Day! Welcome back to another post in this your magickal gazette. I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend as well as (and hopefully) nice weather in your part of the world.

Today’s topic dear reader, is one I have been putting off, but I think it is time I post it. Enjoy!

Magickal Remains. What to do after the magick its done, the candles and assorted magickal tools are spent and all that we have left is the “remains” as witness to our spiritual work.

Candles is the first on the list. Some people believe that burying wax would be the appropriate thing to do. Others feel that the wax that was left over from the candle should be kept in place on their altars or chosen place for burning candles until their spiritual work manifests.

The reality of candles used as a conduit of the personal petition,  it’s that once the candle is burnt, the wish has gone into the realm of Goddess/Universal Spirit, taking with it your faith in the outcome. Once there, the work to be done its theirs. (Here I have to add, that magick without physical efforts fizzles out or does not materialize) The manifestation is in process and the physical vessel has done its job, therefore obsolete.  The hardened wax is collected and placed in a brown paper bag. The ones for sandwiches are perfect. (but if you are out of any brown bags, then any small plastic bag is ok if nothing else is available) I do have to add this too: If the work is one for un-hexing, or strong protection, etc, then add a bit of salt to the bag. For added protection. Once you do that, dispose of it in the collective trash bins (if you live in an apartment complex) or the outside trash bin of your home. That is all.

Other magickal paraphernalia, will be disposed of as well. Easier with natural conduits of magick, as for example water, salt. Water and salt will be disposed of, through your kitchen drain or bathroom. Just run some water from the faucet while you dispose of both.

The incense ashes are disposed of in your trash can. If you have used powdered incense burnt on the instant charcoal tables, then make sure that it is all spent and cold before disposing of it. Same for incense cones and incense sticks. All goes into the trash.

If you have a favorite dish for your candles, and like to re-use for all your magickal work, then a good cleaning is called for. Once is cleaned, spray the dish with a bit of your blessing water/blend etc. This helps to cleanse the vibrational level and makes it ready for the next time you need to use it.

Lovely yellow flowers

If you had flowers on your altar that were specially for your work, let them stay until they dry up. Once that happens dispose of them right away. Do not keep a dry petal of leaf. Just throw them out.

Quartz, stones etc. These depending of the work can be kept or disposed of. Some tumbled stones can be disposed of into the earth (garden or potted plants/flowers) if, that is that the work calls for. Some of the stones can be carried with you, in your purse, your pocket, a charm etc. Until you see the work manifested. Then you either keep them or dispose of them. Otherwise, they are cleansed properly, i.e. Placed on a windowsill to be cleansed with sunlight. Or placed in a dish with some salt, so that the salt absorbs whatever energies it has collected. If you have chosen to place them in water to be cleansed, make sure it is practical to do so. Some quartz, cannot be cleansed this way as they dissolve. Research your type of stone and how to cleanse them properly.

Altar cloth. If you have one in particular that is used often, then hand wash (if small enough) or throw in the washer if too big. Add a bit of blessed water together with your laundry detergent. To not only clean in the physical but as well as in the spiritual. You can also, once is dry, prepare by ironing your altar cloth and spray with lavender blessed water or rose-water etc. This way, you infuse your cloth lovely magickal power.

If you use wands, bells, chimes etc. Cleanse these as well. Pass some incense around them and/or spray them as well with your blessed water after each spiritual work.

Altar, or place/space where you conduct magickal work the most in your home. This is the center of your spiritual work. Where it all happens! This has to be cleansed at the least twice per month or if you constantly conduct magickal work, then weekly is best.

Don’t dwell on the fact that you are disposing of items used for magick once you are done with them. Don’t think your wish won’t manifest just because you did not hold on to it, until the magick manifested. As you already know, or should know if you don’t yet. All things that have no further use and left sitting on a place, corner, surface etc. collect all sorts of energies over time. It is best to clean the space and clear the vibes.

Once the connection is made from the physical world we live in to the Universal flow of magic, then the tool has served its purpose. We give thanks to Earth and elements for having played a part in the ritual. Whether formal or informal. We now this is but the beginning, and the work in the physical is barely started as faith is powered by the action/s we take, with the knowledge that what we ask for will manifest in one way or another.

It is important to keep our altar, physical tools and vibrational level in optimum condition. By keeping magickal items in one place, organized and ready for next time we need them, we can concentrate and focus on what is important: Our magickal work.

Keep in mind that the important thing is not to lose yourself in the details. It is energy for magick after all, you are garnishing for your outcome. Go with the flow!

Until I write again,

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear Reader: Hello and welcome to this latest installment of your  magickal newsletter. I hope every one is enjoying the season of Spring. Without further ado, lets delve into the:

CURRENT EVENTS: Spring sings to me every morning through my window. Nature is speaking out loud now, so we can hear its voice, through the singing of the birds, and the rustling sound leaves make when the wind dances through the trees branches. Spring explodes not only with the beauty of nature awaking from slumber, but with it own kind of music.

Music has been since time immemorial, an important part of the human experience. It has the capacity to change a mood, whatever the piece being played and the state of mind of the person listening to it.

Music resonates in our hearts,  and reverberates through the soul. Each melody is felt differently by each individual. What’s important is that it helps us transcend a moment, a situation, a mood.  Spiritually it is a powerful tool that aids in meditation, healing, spell work. In life, it inspires us, it can be a muse, that enters our senses and sparks the imagination. I say dear reader, let there always be music. It brings us closer as people of this earth, and it awakens our senses to the human riddle of who we really are.

This is the time to continue with whatever projects we have and march forward with assurance that hard work pays up, but its sweeter when Jupiter’s energies are lending a hand.

Crystal Ball-Peek@theWeek

On Thursday April 9th at 9:00 p.m. PST. The Sun in Aries will conjunct Mercury/Aries. These two combined gives a push in the right direction to anything connected in the areas of communication, commerce, travel.

Then on Saturday April 11th at 8:28 a.m. PST. Venus enters Gemini. This combo also helps matters to continue moving forward. Gemini is a mutable air sign. It  likes to try new things that are out of the ordinary. With Mercury as the ruler of this sign, there is constant move and with Venus, the planet that likes to please, there is sure to be an influence of “what the heck, I deserve a change” sort of mood. Just remember, whatever decision you make during the four weeks their energies will be in effect, will leave an aftermath in its wake.

With life pulling me into a new direction, one that I have postponed traveling for a long time, it creates a desire in me of also pull this newsletter to new territory, new borders. My mind is already twirling ideas as to what these new changes will be for the Witch’s Gazette.

In the meantime, I want to thank everyone that has been a part of this experience. Thank you for taking the time to read through each post. I hope a brought a bit of laughter or smiles into your life, that I made you think with some of the subjects I wrote about in this newsletter. Witch’s Gazette – Magickal Newsletter Pub XX

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear Reader: Welcome once more to the Witch’s Gazette. A place where you can just sit and relax for enjoyable read.

CURRENT HAPPENINGS:

As consumers in the Millennium, we see new techie gadgets that are supposed to help us with various tasks. Add to that the new advancement in robotic technology (like the drones that Amazon and Google are testing for super fast delivery of goods) The Millennium is populated with cool apps from your phone, which helps to manage your daily routine, to more advanced programed PC’s as well, with voice recognition software  and even your home, with those nifty robotic vacuum cleaners.

While is awesome to be standing at the age of many robotponderstechnological advancements, I wonder how this fits into the present “mind” collective of our planet Earth. Technology advances do not balance well with how we as humans are “growing.” I read somewhere, some time ago, that both of the above are out of whack (to be concise). Which is true. While we strive to understand all the new apps and devices that make our life “better” or “easier.” It is my humble belief, that we are failing to understand a very important component of what being a human being is all about, which is to understand (first and foremost) our fellow beings.

While we are “ooh-ing” and “wow-ing” all the cool things out in the market, we are consistently being at odds with each other. Wars still go on, famine is still a sad reality in some countries. Many are still clinging to outdated ideas, concepts of how other countries are all about, and still maintaining that demeaning “third world” country label and worldview. So, instead of opening up our minds, and learning more about our global neighbors, it seems as if the “mind” collective is becoming more immersed with the “now”, the “right here” which makes us more insular instead of being more broad-minded.

I do love technology advancement and all that it brings in its wake.   I am a steampunk enthusiast. I love the concept of a world into which technology and old style living blend and thrive harmoniously. This is how I see society (in a sense) now. We are very much still old-fashioned in our outlook  but we are surrounding ourselves with things that many don’t understand. We have to constantly be rushing, to be caught up with the newest gadget and the lingo that accompanies such new things. While all this is happening, Earth spiritually and physically is very much at odds with us its inhabitants. It is a maelstrom of actions and emotions aggravated with the need of humans for progress no matter what we squash and destroy in the march to the “future”.

How do we change and when? This is precisely the moment for change. I am not proposing, that you rush to another country to try to understand that culture. I am proposing to start right where you are. The change to happen, has to come from within. That mysterious inner cosmos that is part of the Earth cosmos. How can we understand others when we even don’t know our very own selves? A long time ago, someone I loved dearly (and still do) taught me, that if I wanted to be respected, then I had to give respect. Through her love of gardening I learned to honor other things outside of myself, simple lessons given through her love of all that was nature. Those lessons come to me now, in this time of needed change. We have lost respect not only for each other, but for this planet. It is good to have technology. It helps not only us, but Earth. What we have to find, is a way in which both can live on a balanced frequency. How we will accomplish this, is a journey that is needed for humanity to move forward into true advancement of the soul.

PLANETS AND STARS – A CELESTIAL PEEK AT THE WEEK:

This week we have an unusual combo of celestial happenings, lovely!

We start off the week with Mercury entering Aries at 6:44 p.m. (PST). Mercury as you all know, is the planet of communication. Aries is famous for being impulsive, so be careful of what you say. This combo affects us, in a way  that we may talk before we think. If you have something important to say to someone important in your life, I suggest dear reader, to just chill, and wait it out.

On Tuesday March 31st Mars exchanges the Aries impulsive energies with the more mellow energies of Taurus. But! remember that Taurus is known for its stubborn streak, and Mars is and always will be the warrior planet. It will fight your cause. It will not let you give up! Pick a goal so that their energy can be put to excellent use to add perseverance to achieve success. Mars/Taurus will be with us for 6 weeks! make good use of it while it lasts.

Then we end the week with awesome celestial energies. On Saturday April 4th. we will have a total Lunar eclipse at 5 a.m. (PST). Then the  Libra Full Moon at 5:06 a.m. The Lunar eclipse will be seen globally so for those that like me, are in the West coast, you have to rise pretty early to get a glimpse. There is just a hiccup in this awesome mix. First with a Moon in Libra square with Pluto in Capricorn. It will last about 4 hours. No biggie. Most of us are asleep. Then we have an opposition of Libra Moon and Uranus/Aries. But this one happens exactly when the Moon goes void of course at 8:59 a.m. (PST). My advice is postpone any major plans. Uranus is too wild for my taste (and remember that it co-rules the central nervous system with Mercury..avoid stress!) and Aries doesn’t help matters with its impulsive nature. Just sit tight. It will last four hours. Plan accordingly.

Easter falls on Sunday April 5th as well as Passover…interesting day as both these calendar events concur with Sun square Pluto.  Sun is seen as bringer of life. It needs to shine and helps in matters in which we want to do just that. Pluto on the other hand is the planet of transformation. If there is anything where you are at turmoil, then this planet will bring change. A square is when friction exists between two planets. Once challenges the other. Lets see what this square leaves in its wake.

MAGICKAL TIP OF THE WEEK:

Power of the Planets: MarsPicture 3207

With the spotlight on Aries, the planet of choice for this week is Mars. This planet given its attributes, is perfect when there are obstacles to overcome.

You will need:

A red candle ( it can be a votive candle or a small pillar candle)

Iron nail

Incense: Dragon’s Blood or Cinnamon.

A glass of red berry juice.

Tuesday is the day for Mars. On this day, inscribe your candle with the symbol of Mars, your name and a few words like “Overcome x or y habit” “Overcome all obstacles to success” etc, etc. Whatever it is you need to work on. Hold you candle and think of what you want to achieve. Imagine those obstacles as big rocks or as walls and how they will be brought down. Place on a fire safe container and lit your candle.

Light your incense and pass around the candle and around your glass of juice. Place incense next to the candle.

Place the glass of juice between your hands and visualize energies going into the juice. This drink represents the endurance you need to see your goal through. Drink juice while sitting next to your candle. Gaze at the flame and infuse it with your positive thoughts. Repeat as needed.

Well dear reader, another week has arrived and the third month of the Gregorian calendar is over. With Spring here, many of us, tend to daydream a little and admire the work of Nature. This is the perfect time to sow the seeds of what we want to see accomplished. New goals, old dreams.. with the energy of Mars in Taurus, why not make them come true? Thank you for stopping by for a little read.

I hope to see you next week! same place, same time!

Until I write again!

Vernal Equinox ~ Ostara~

Spring!

Spring!

March 20th – Vernal Equinox – First day of Spring! Moon enters Aries.

Finally the first day of Spring its here in all its glory – goodbye Winter blues, hello flowers  and beautiful gardens!

Like the flowers and animals around us, we  are once more awakening in a sense from winter’s slumber. Now we are ready to enjoy the brand new energies of this new season.

In ancient times, this day of equal light and darkness  was called Eostar or Ostara. This season of rebirth was the predecessor to the Christian holy day Easter.  According to lore back then eggs were eaten to promote prosperity and fertility. Eggs which are a symbol of life, and creativity, were  used as gifts to be exchanged and were colored yellow and gold, then given out as gifts or used in ritual in honor of the Sun and fecundity deities. The custom of coloring eggs has survived through the centuries. We can use organic coloring instead of store-bought coloring (like beet juice, grape juice, green tea, onion leaves etc.)

Spring brings out the natural urges of going with the flow and give our homes a deep cleaning, letting out the winter energies that have been shut in with us during that season, opening windows, cleansing not only in the physical but also spiritually.

An excellent time as well, to tackle those closets, put away winter items, prepare a box for things to be donated, decluter and organize!  A perfect time to clean out ritual tools, give a good cleaning to our Altars, get rid of old candles, clean out the old wax from candle holders, mop our floors with a good magickal herbal blend to chase away the blues. After all that hard work :=) we can relax and chill in a nice purifying bath of an herb of choice (marjoram, thyme, basil, rosemary, are a few good herbs to choose from) to help renew tired auras and worn out souls. If you want to take it yet one step further, you can after your cleansing bath, enjoy a nice cup of green tea, sweetened with honey! yum! Green tea is excellent for our body and mind.

I think the biggest challenge now that the season of Spring it’s here,  is to not overwhelm ourselves with a big “to do” list and at the end get frustrated at the rate of accomplishing those things on the list. After all try to keep in mind that all those things that got mysteriously tangled in the closet, the extra paper clips that seemed to have multiplied in your desk, and the cobwebs in dark corners of your home, did not materialize there in one day.  It is best to tackle one task at a time, do it well, feel a sense of accomplishment for having it done. This will leave you more relaxed and able to enjoy the brilliant colors that come out of earth through beautiful flowers, enjoy the weather, look up and see the brilliant sky and maybe get a show of birds flying by getting material for their nests.. or one where birds are fighting  for a certain  mate.. aah! nature!  it does have a sense of humor  :=)

Happy Spring & BB!
