The Turning of the Season

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear reader: Welcome back. Finally! September is here. A couple more weeks and we are rid of the summer season. Earth prepares in its own way for the next season to come.

We prepare for Autumn as well. We start to make small changes.  Perhaps putting away summer clothing or even decorations that reflected the summer days. Now we can look forward to cooler weather, shorter days and cozy nights. Although the warm days are still felt the days are shorter now, the heat starts to subside by evening hours which  is a nice break we welcome.

This month started out with a bang! We had a new Moon in Virgo last Thursday. A Solar eclipse to make it more interesting and of course we are now in the midst of a Mercury retrograde.

sunAlthough we have days ahead filled with squares and oppositions we also have Trines, Conjunctions, and Sextiles. So not all is lost or doomed to failure. It is always good to look for and find the bright side of things.

You can plan accordingly if you wish to create, change, start etc., any project or goal. Depending on the planetary hour and which planets are in accord for your spiritual work.

Magickal work is ideally conducted at the optimum hours, and correct astrological influence/days. Of course when one needs to work magick, one does not wait until the right ‘alignment’ comes along. We must do with what we have at hand; at any given notice.

There is no magickal formula or words that can be said in the face of a square or opposition that will make the planets move aside so that you can go your merry magickal way and do your ‘thing.’ That is  a waste of time. Why? The planets are going through what the natural flow of the Universe dictates. They do not have special ‘feelers’ that know when people are doing magick and need a bit of clearance for the work to be done. They are not entities, but planets. Doing what they were meant to do, for thousands of eons.

B-witch 2So lets say you need to perform magickal work. How will this be achieved in the midst of a Square for example? Squares are difficult and challenging since it creates resistance between two planets. The positive side of a Square (yes it does have one) is that it points out where a person can see the block or problem (whatever goes wrong during a square personally) and realize where positive changes can be made. For example if someone needs to protect in the midst of Squares and Opposition, the personal petition paper must contain a soothing astrological element, which could be the Moon for example, Also the person’s astrological sign, and a sigil of protection (the pentagram for example). Adding as well the symbol for a planet which has a compatible element to at least one of the planets that are in Opposition or Square. So if you have a challenge with a Water element planet you will use an Earth element planet symbol to balance the work and ground it.

Prepare by creating sacred space. A meditation before starting the work its ideal. It grounds your mind and your resolve. You create a shield around you. Be firm in your magickal intent…meaning, you believe that what you are about to work on spiritually, will become in the physical.

magicianEmpower your work even more by making or putting together, something which to you represents your magickal intent. Place your petition in a charm, or bless something that means protection to you personally. Add more power to the work with candle magick. The list goes on. Your own creativity in the matter and that which comes from the heart is what will make it yours.

What I want to convey, is that there is always a way in which one can utilize energies to one’s benefit. Sometimes too if we can, just by waiting out until the astrological elements fit our work, another way of working on our goal might be found. The point is to utilize what knowledge we have, tools at our disposal and a little ingenuity to find different “roads” shall we say to manifest the magick into something tangible.

Don’t let the Oppositions, Squares and retrogrades scare you into a corner of immobility. If really nothing can be done, then time is well spent by just meditating, or organizing your magickal area, cleaning your magickal tools. Perhaps make something new for your altar, or buy something that will enhance the beauty of your personal sacred space. Write on your personal/magickal journal. Or just relax. Do nothing, take walks. See what interesting things you might find while walking out in nature. Time is never wasted if we open our minds to the endless flow and possibilities of the Universe.

Celestial Merry-go-Round

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear reader: Welcome to another installment of my weekly newsletter. Next week it’s charged with astrological peril! From a retrograde (Yes, you guessed it..Mercury) to planetary configurations, and solar eclipses. We must harden the intent of keeping as cool as we can, and of course prepare accordingly.

Planets are a funny thing. They do what they want as they see fit. Meanwhile down here on Earth we humans are affected by their energy. Whether on a global scale or a personal one, it does play a bit of havoc on the psyche and life in general.

moderen-metaphysicsTake Mercury for example. How many times have I seen people get stressed out when they realize a retrograde is imminent. Many. Even those who say they do not believe in astrology and/or in anything metaphysical or spiritual etc, are very aware that communications do go awry. Whatever plans are to be put into action, become undone or go really bad indeed. Better put on hold and sit the retrograde through.. in peace. Unfortunately there is no escaping a retrograde. It happens. Its unavoidable. We deal with it. In the best way we can. So we use our smarts and do not begin anything new. Do not (if able) make that trip, do not buy any electronics during this period or get a new car (movement, Mercury). Etc..etc.

knightsfightingAdd to the retro the challenge  which happens between the Sun and two planets, Neptune and Saturn. Not the best of astrological energies when challenging each other. Sun makes things worst, by being its forceful self, and shining all that bright energy onto the taciturn Saturn and the Neptune dreamy energy. Saturn imposes slowness, it does not like to rush. All well and dandy when you want to utilize its energies to make things happen properly so it makes it grow slowly but surely (like investments) but bad really, when square to the Sun. Imagine if you will, two knights of old. Armed to the teeth with all that heavy armor and huge swords, each with its need to be honorable and do the right thing, but stubborn as hell.  Each of them tall and powerful, each maintaining their ground.  The Sun pushes for resolution and Saturn pushes back with its need to wait it out and do things well.  So we get obstacles and things go even slower than usual.

Then Neptune will be in opposition to the Sun..oh dear! Hmm, I see Neptune as another knight, but a female knight.. Yes, she fights if needed, but she would rather find a nice scarf to go with her shining armor suit. She after all is very creative, so every where she goes, she sees possibilities to make it pretty or better if possible, even when is not. So when she is in opposition to the Sun, she sort of dazzles the Sun with her otherworldly beauty while trying to avoid the reality of such power of the Sun. Remember that Neptune  does like to avoid reality and fantasize. She also likes everything of mystery and psychic nature. So while she is trying to convince the Sun to step aside so she can go on her path to… wherever whim might take her, and the Sun trying mightily not to fall to her charm…well we humans get a bit of murky thoughts, forget things, sort of walk in a fog, due to the Sun being engaged otherwise and not helping matters.

argument-cartoonThen when Neptune finally moves away from the Sun, she goes on her merry way to have a square with Saturn..*sigh* This mighty knight is not as easily swayed as the Sun has been. He is a stubborn planet. So they get into an argument. Neptune trying to convince him so and so its true. He almost shouting that she lives in the clouds and needs a dose of reality.  She saying Ay! and he saying Nay! So we humans have conflict. We vacillate in our decisions, we might want to take the easy road, but our minds are telling us that is not the way.

What is a person to do, in the midst of such danger?! OK, I am being melodramatic, and to be honest I poke fun at some things I read about this time being one to lay low…under the radar…What is that? We cannot live our lives hiding from every celestial alignment  and go about our days sayings such things as “We are doomed, doomed! The retrograde nears, hide! avoid…hmm..living your life as normal!”

Yes, dear reader, I know some people are more affected than others by some planet being retrograde and some others are affected by squares and oppositions. But my intent is to bring calm, to an otherwise unstable week ahead. So what must we do? Hmm..

As I mentioned before, prepare accordingly. Do not do things when Mercury is retrograde that go against the energy of the moment. Just take the time, to prepare for when its gone. Reflect on your goals, re-organize. Do not make major decisions that will go awry anyway. By now most are masters at avoiding the “dreaded retro.” Otherwise live life as usual.

As to the opposition and square between Sun, Saturn and Neptune. Do not stress out about something that cannot (I repeat) be avoided. If you find obstacles to your plans in the week ahead (Sun/Saturn) then re-think your strategy, perhaps once you do it, you will realize you can either wait it out or realize maybe is not the best of plans.

If you find yourself being a bit or more forgetful than usual, daydreaming, or distracted in the week ahead (Sun/Neptune), do a mental exercise to bring focus or meditate. Carry grounding stones. Like Hematite or Onyx for example.

Then we still have the conflict between Neptune/Saturn. If you vacillate making a decision, again re-think, change strategy and again…ground and focus.

planetsIn an otherwise everyday routine, one without being aware of the celestial happenings, we do use our logic in times of stress (Hopefully) and re-think our actions and decisions (Ideally). For those of us that perform magickal work, like knights of old, we put on our “spiritual armor” and make sure to protect ourselves in the spiritual. Just in case. Makes sense.

It is true that their influence is felt sometimes more than others. It is also true that it has been happening for many a millennia and it will continue to do so, until we cease to be, and others will inhabit this planet. So perchance dear reader, the best we can do, is to be a bit pragmatic about the whole thing. That may yet be, the best strategy to be able to deal with the natural flow of the Universe.

Until I write again,

The Spiritual Witch

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear Reader: Welcome to your magickal newsletter. I hope I find you, all who read my humble blog, well of mind and body. With yesterday’s Full Moon, marking what is called the Corn Moon, many find themselves looking forward to the next season, and perhaps reflecting on the global happenings these past months on this, our planet Earth.

With what has transpired so far, and what is going on at the moment. The chaos and pain inflicted on the innocent as well as all the crazy, senseless things going on around the country and the world at large, I take comfort on daily devotional or prayers. It is my anchor, sort of speak, that I throw into each day. So that it grounds me, and helps to keep me aware of the blessings. Even if I cannot make sense of things, it creates a sense of calm in the midst of chaos. Without it I feel lost, out of whack. If I do not have the will to even pray, then I light at least a small candle. If it is life keeping me too busy then I give thanks at the end of the day, sitting down on my bed, before I go to sleep. Prayer or devotions brings light and calmness of mind.

Three_Macbeth_WitchesPrayer or devotions, is a way of expressing out what worries you or a way to acknowledge the blessings. Most people act surprised when they find out witches pray.. Why would that be? I have wondered in the past. Perhaps some might think that as witches we are not spiritual. That all to us is spells, candles and bells. While it is true, we do perform spells, those are but a minimal part of being a witch, and just the props or background to aid the mind in visualizing a desired outcome. But it is our spiritual practice that which keeps it all together. This is true for any one, of any dogma, religious practice, etc.

Whatever you believe in, you gain spiritual strength from prayer. It is a powerful tool through daily practice, which will help guide you true when looking for answers that cannot be achieved otherwise in our lives. Being a human, in this world of ours, makes it necessary to look for ways in which we can create peace within as well as without. Not so that we can detach ourselves from everyone else. On the contrary; it is done with the idea in mind of reaching out to the collective consciousness and understanding how we can be of service to our fellow human beings.

prayerSo how do witches pray? you may be pondering. Is there a special formula said out loud, or ancient words of wisdom passed down from witch to witch?….  We are but humans living a spiritual life and as such we pray much the same as everyone else. We do so from the heart. With words that come to mind in times of need. We might have one prayer we have written down ourselves, or something borrowed from an old book of prayers that is fitted to our own type of need. But nothing fancy, nothing “ancient” I cannot say we are unique in our prayers, just because we might happen to burn incense (other cultures do burn incense during offerings to their ancestors and requests) or burn candles (again, other religious beliefs do make a habit of burning an Offertory votive candle). So you see prayer is simply that…prayer.

The need to connect to the divine in time of need, is ancient indeed. Perhaps it did not precisely start off as a “prayer” perhaps some ancestor way back in time, had the need to ask for guidance, to something other than what she/he saw in this physical world. We humans love to talk. It is in our nature. Some of us more than others. But it makes sense that we externalized, that which is within through speech, it makes sense that as time went by, we started to have those special “talks” at moments when we are not interrupted. So we can connect better to the Divine.

There is nothing either, that says one belief group has better prayers than others. I have found some optimismbeautiful prayers that are not of my belief. It has not deterred me to use for myself. All I change is to whom I send my prayers, but the intent its the same. For all of us.

We really are all spiritual beings. Living the same human experience. In different countries under different cultures, and circumstance, true. Nevertheless, we share that inner need to connect to the Universe, to the Goddess, God, Source. Whatever your personal belief. We are all searching for answers. For peace, for universal love, and understanding.

The times we live in, require the collective human mind, to come together. Indeed it is needed that we pull our spiritual beings in a concentrated effort for a better world. Perhaps that or those who we believe in (Goddess, Universe, etc.) needs us to do that. For they alone, cannot bring change unless we want that change.

So, yes. We are witches, but we are also spiritual beings. Living life in the best way we see fit. Creating positive changes, in the best way we can. With harm to none…

So mote it be.lovely candle

Bringing a Sense of Wonder – Color In Magick

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear Reader: Hello and welcome to another post from the Magickal Gazette. As summer nears the end of its season, the sun starts to shine harder as it uses the last of the season’s power.

As I was sitting down, ruminating about summer’s end and preparing to work on my post, I noticed the colors reflected on the wall behind my desk from a small butterfly prism hanging at my balcony window.  The colors making a lovely rainbow through the wall, moving this way and that.  It seemed for a moment, as if the wind and the glass butterfly were playing a game only they knew about.

That brought to mind, a topic I have wanted to explore in this blog. In my previous post I talked about the power of Blue. Now in this one, I want to broaden the range of colors and how it can be used for magickal purposes.

The effect of color on the human psyche and emotions is a well know fact. Like music which  has a range of vibrational ripples that affect the emotions so do colors affect us as well. We even have phrases like:

” I am feeling blue” or “seeing red.” We have come to subconsciously acknowledge the effect of colorscolormagick (2) and this is not something that is a phenomenon of the modern age, but rather goes back centuries. It is believed that occultists created a code, which they could refer to whenever they performed magickal work. The belief in the power of the color red, to name one, goes back to Roman times. Back then, it symbolized the sacred liquid of life and the sacred flame. Silver, was associated with the moon and believed to held power over the astral world and Blue being the color of the sky was associated with divine blessings.

Just as color with its vibrational energy; is used to enhance a living space it can also be used in magickal work. There are various ways to attain the desired effect in any particular magickal endeavor.

The most obvious one is colored bottles,  to store items like blessed water,  incense, oils or even small tumbled stones.

colormagick (3)Lights can be shined through a stained glass and the colored light that comes through it, can be focused on talisman, petition, charm, stone, water etc. Anything you can think of to be charged for magickal work.

For example an oil that is meant to be for money, can be placed in a green bottle and this in turn placed on a windowsill were the light of the Sun and the Moon will shine on it, and empower the oil with their natural energy.

When you empower an item with color as a filter, sunlight is used first as the Sun will imbue the vibratory essence of the color. After which, the Moon light will be used to imbue the metaphysical property of the color.

Other things to take into consideration to charge your items: Moon phase and the season of the year. Both will determine the type of vibratory energy your item receives through the chosen color. Seasons like moon phases each bring their own energy, thus Spring and Summer are for things of growth, Autumn for harvest and Winter for reflection and gathering energy.

The waxing moon, for things of “growth” like plans, income, health (to make it stronger) gain. The waning moon phase is used to work on things we want to diminish (weight loss for example), get rid of and protection, etc.

Prepare accordingly with the days of the week, astrological sign and moon phase. This means that you can choose a day to use the sunlight energy and then wait for the correct lunar phase to finish empowering your item with color on a different day.

Once your item is charged, re-empower each Full moon under the lunar energies.

A short list of color for magick, this is not an all inclusive list. Just enough to start you off.

Gold- success, wealth

Green – Money, growth, renewal, employment,

Purple- Success, wisdom, protection

Red – health, will power

Yellow – intellect, creativity, success

Regardless of how color is utilized in one’s life, whether for magick or just every day living, color has the power to uplift the mood, calm the mind and energize the will power. Like music, color is needed to help us in our human journey.

As I wrap up today’s post, I look up again at the wall and notice the prism lights are disappearing as Earth moves away from the Sun into the afternoon hours. I recapture in my mind the wonder I felt when I first saw the colors earlier on, reflecting the colors of the rainbow.  Like a child watching a prism for the first time, it is that sense of wonder, that we need to keep within our heart, for it is such moments, that help us to see the beauty around us.

dreamUntil I write again,

Mystery and Magick of Blue

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear reader: Welcome to another of my magickal newsletters. I hope everyone has been well and that Summer season has not put a damp in the general enjoyment of life.

I have been thinking on how colors affect not only a single life but a culture. Take blue for example. Blue has been used by many cultures around the world. I am not saying it is only true for modern times, but for centuries before.  From the southern part of Spain to small towns in Mexico, this is a color that has deep roots in folk magic.

blue-and-white-flowers-wallpaperBlue has been used to paint from front doors to window shutters or trims around a house. The use of this color was not only for decoration  but for powerful mystical significance. Blue has been used as a very simple yet powerful form of protective magic against the “evil eye” and negative energies.

If painting a door in blue or trims of the house is out of the question, we can still be creative as to how to incorporate it; in our personal “universe” and the surrounding area like garden, exterior and interior walls.

You don’t have to break the bank to add this power color to your home and your magickal practice. With a little creativity and a focused intention you can make blue part of your life.

For the house there are ways to incorporate the color. From adding blue flowers to the garden, blue ornaments, or blue wind chimes.

door-goal-house-entrance-blue-wood-painting-doorsThe interior perhaps can be done in shades of light blue for a room, or a blue fabric cover for the magickal altar. Blue stones in a container of water placed close to the front door creates a powerful protection charm. Blue curtains in a room, to protect from outside negative frequencies.

Blue is a widespread way of protecting self from negative energy. With its soothing shades it has been used in jewelry as well, for its powerful magical property. One of the most popular and that which springs to mind right away is Turquoise.  In some parts of the world for example, wearing this stone helps in guarding off the evil eye and repels bad luck. it is a powerful magickal stone. You can make small charms, or jewelry set in your favorite medium. If you like to make your own jewelry then you can incorporate blue glass or plastic beads. They will have the same magickal effect as it is the color and the intention that matters, not so much the material.

blue_flower-normal5.4Then we also have protection charms made of fabric and assorted personal choice items that can be carried either in a purse, pocket, backpack, etc! The charm can be sewn around with small blue beads charged for protection for added power. A blue purse, blue comb, blue blankets! and the list goes on, the creative is limitless!

When did the practice of using blue with a mystical significance was started?  It is not  known for certain.  Although it seems that it has its beginnings in the shores of the Mediterranean, I personally think it goes back to Goddess. It makes sense to me that blue is one of her power colors. Blue for her universal power, limitless and mysterious. Like the oceans, lake and rivers,  and the bright blue sky. Her power surrounds us everyday and protect us if we so choose to use it for positive magick. Although that is but one of her colors, it has survived in the collective consciousness  for centuries, enough so that we continue to use it in magick to this very day.

So next time you think about the best color for magickal purposes, call upon the energies of Goddess power through this most mystical of colors..Who knows what awesome things might be realized in the outcome of your goals.GoddessJar (14)

Summer Solstice- Full Moon -A Window for Magick

Full Moon in Sag Summer Solstice-  Sun enters Cancer

Monday 20th – First day of Summer
Full Moon occurred at 4:02 a.m. PST
Moon in Scorpio at 4:55 a.m.

Sun enters Cancer at 3:34 p.m. PST

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear Reader: Hello and welcome to this magickal newsletter. The season has turned, the weather is hotter and accordingly we change our gears to go with nature’s flow.

As the Full Moon occurred early for us here in the Western part of the country,  the day found me getting up early and prepping up the Magickal work of the day. If you have been following my blog, you know it is not often I post pictures of my spiritual work. But to adapt to the changes of the season, I thought it befitting to start with some of the things prepared for the day.

Early morning…

IMG_20160620_072757

I have been patiently preparing for this day. Above you see pictured an old metal garden globe I had since many years now. With the creative streak I found myself with in the past weeks, I was inspired to convert my garden globe into a magickal vehicle for prayer, requests and to get in touch with the awesome Goddess energies.

You see it in the “after” phase. Drawing from Goddess symbolism, I used paints in the color that to me represents Goddess.  I added a butterfly on top part of the globe, a bee, a lady bug colored the edge of each star. To empower the work, my Magick Potion oil was blended into the paints, then when all was to my satisfaction, I glazed with a gardening project glaze. I asked family, friends and some of my customers, to add a personal request if they wanted to. Those are the papers you see sticking out.

IMG_20160620_072804

This is a small corner of my terraced garden. I started out by blessing the petitions, and saying a prayer of intention, for the Goddess to bless and empower each of the personal requests. Because it was early in the day, I was able to calmly conduct the first part of my Solstice Magick. I sat down in front of the Goddess Request globe and for a few minutes connected to the energies of Earth.  Once that was done, I took my globe inside of the home and continued with the second part of the Solstice ritual.

Entrance Altar:

IMG_20160620_081530

From the Summer Solstice candles I had prepared for my store, I kept a few for this day. I added items in which I am working, my money mojo bags, more petitions that did not fit onto the globe, was placed on the Terracotta dish on which the globe is resting on. Here is where the work got more intense. Due to the heat of the day already in the high digits early morning, all of my windows and doors where open. It felt right, receiving the rays from the Sun surrounded with blessing energies, I enjoyed this part very much. The candles were dancing in their containers, the moment silent, but for the words I was speaking out, in a low voice. It was as if Goddess herself was present, making sure nothing intruded and all went well.

IMG_20160620_081551

Now the Goddess Petition globe is sitting on my Altar, a silent witness of the Magickal work and of the trust and faith of each of the personal petitions. Within 3 days time, those papers, without being opened will be burnt in ritual fire. For the energies to go up into that special place where Goddess and Spirit reside and where Magick begins!

In Magickal work, this Full Moon represents motivation, divine inspiration, our human journey in serving our spiritual evolution. Make use of these powerful energies! They are there for us to access them in the most positive of ways.
Change is all around us, like the seasons change, so must we change and adapt to the flow of Earth.
May your Solstice and the Summer season be one that brings personal growth.

Until I write again,A ladybug

Gemini New Moon~Curious Mutability

victorian-woman-writing-letterDear reader: Welcome to this magickal newsletter. Some of you might have noticed the title of the newsletter is different. The Witch’s Gazette has now become the name of my blog. Post’s titles will be shorter to reflect the theme and what better time to start off my blog changes than the new Moon!

Today’s new Moon, is in aspect to the sign of Gemini. For us in the Pacific coast it happens at 8 p.m. PST.  New Moon has as much power on its own way as that of a full Moon. Since it is dark when the new Moon happens, not showing yet that first crescent, it is the perfect time to take stock of has transpired the past lunar cycle. Think of the things you would like to achieve in the time it takes for the Moon to grow, wax and culminate into a full Moon.

New Moon is also a good time to take a cleansing and purification bath, cleanse your home and rid yourself of any old wax from past candle spells, for example. Clean your altar as well as your magickal tools. Items you would like to get rid of or donate and in short getting your spiritual and physical self ready for when the Moon starts to grow. This is very helpful as it clears mental cobwebs, prepares space for new things to come and clears the air for new blessings and experiences.

Gemini-Zodiac-Sign-Properties-03Gemini is ruled by the element of Air, and as such is mutable, curious, eloquent, intellectual. Gemini is masculine, reigned by the planet Mercury.

Although Mercury exudes intellectual power, Geminis are not always brainy, but! they do like to learn a bit about everything. Which makes them a sort of “jack of all trades” in the sense that they know just enough information about something, but not the whole subject. So if you want to impress someone with your “know-how” this is the Moon to help you, sort of “beef up” on a given subject.

Use the natural love of communication of a Gemini Moon to assist you to relay your ideas and thoughts better. If you want to be able to adapt to change smoothly, then this is the Moon sign to help along. If there is need for new ideas, being creative, or getting the mental juices for writing going, this is also the time to take advantage of the creative flow of Gemini.

Gemini Moon is also the perfect time to run errands, write letters and prepare for any upcoming activity. Also great time to meet new people and go on short trips.

Gemini Moon is a time to satisfy your curiosity, share your natural sense of humor. In the relationship area, this is a good time for a getaway together with your partner. A time to talk about any thing you both need to catch up on and make plans for the future.

Going along with the natural flow of the Moon makes sense. We live the natural energy of the Moon instead of going against the “tide.” Very helpful in so many areas as it will bring about a more natural outcome to mundane matters as well of course in your spiritual and magickal life.

Familiarize yourself with each Moon phase, follow her path as she alights on each astrological sign and spend time knowing how each aspect reflects on your own life, and how best to use the energies that are at our disposition.

Quick Cleansing bath:

A piece of quartz crystal

3 TBS sea salt or table salt

2 white candles. Tea lights are good, votive candles or the white emergency candles work well.

Rosemary oil or you can also use dried or fresh rosemary. About 1 TBS of dried or fresh. If you are using oil, add that directly to the bath water. About 3 drops is fine.

The above is a quick yet powerful way to connect with the brand new energies of the Moon. The purpose is to let go, and dispel the old from the past lunar cycle and prepare for the new energies.

Place your items on your customary table/altar where you perform you spiritual work. Place the crystal at topmost part, the two candles side by side below it and the rosemary on a small plate in between the candles. The salt as well in a small plate beneath the rosemary. Bless all for your work ahead. The candle on the right is the one that will bring in new energies and blessings. The candle on the left the one absorbing the old.

Create a bubble of light around you and your space. This is your sacred space. Bless your items, state your intent, e.g. ” I let go of hindrances, blocks, mistakes I made in the past Moon. I ask Goddess (or your deity of choice or belief) To cleanse me. Mind, body and soul, from that which stops me to attain the best for myself.” Of course you will fit the wording to your goal. If it is healing you want then create a petition for healing, if it is money the same, etc.  But make sure to add the words : “Cleanse mind, body and soul” Take the crystal in your hands and breath in the cleansing energies that are within this power stone. Put it back and lit the candles.  Let them burn while you take your bath and  to completion once you are done. Just remember to burn away from flammable items and monitor lit candles.

Once you are done, take the rosemary and boil it in 2 cups of water. Let it cool. Strain into your bath water.  Add the salt to the bath water. Salt purifies and cleanses the aura, absorbs negativity. Rosemary helps with deep cleansing the soul, purifying the aura, and attracting positive flow. Take your bath for 5, 7, 9 or 13 mints. Think of how you are letting the negative out of your body, out of your soul and heart and how you are welcoming the new energies.

Once you are done, leave your crystal on your altar, or carry with you, to keep the positive energies going.

As I close today’s blog, I reflect upon the growth of my own magickal newsletter, and where I would like to steer it for future posts.  With the new Moon in Gemini, I see an empty canvas, waiting to be painted and days ahead full of possibilities! May the new Moon, be filled with awesome things, beautiful things, for you dear reader.

And suddenly you know: It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.
