Leo New Moon- It’s All About You

Dear Reader: Welcome to another post, from the Witch’s Gazette. We have a brand new Moon this weekend, and the spotlight is on one of the most fun-loving, astrological signs… Leo!

New Moon: Sunday, July 23rd

Moon enters Leo: 1:34 a.m.

Moon and Sun conjunction: 2:46 a.m. PST

The Sun is shining on this sign, backing up Leo’s self-esteem and the Moon is there to soothe hurt egos and assure him/her that everyone loves them.

Leo likes to be the center of attention, draws lots of friends around her/him and loves the good things in life.

They are good-natured, passionate, humorous and cheerful.

The element of Leo: Fire

Quality: Fixed

Day: Sunday

Planetary ruler: Sun

The Sun is a masculine planet.  Will, intent, determination and spirit are some of the attributes of this fiery star. One of the principles of the Sun is to push outward, to radiate, to blast. Whatever the Sun is shining on, it draws attention to it. It makes sense that Leo loves the attention when given and likes to “radiate” good vibes and being cheerful most of the time.

Leo people tend to achieve their goals. No matter what and how long it might take them. They believe in themselves and believe as well, that as long they radiate this confidence, all will be all right. Very generous with the one they love, and friends. Loyal to family. Leos are intelligent, many times intellectual.

Leo loves traveling, expensive things,  friends and having fun.

The flip side of Leo is that, they not like it when things are out of their control. They do not like being lied to (but then again, who likes that?) and this even if they have lied themselves. They might see their omission of telling the truth as a necessary sacrifice to have peace. They are stubborn, do not like being ignored and tend to be self-centered.

Don’t forget dear reader,  each and every sign has its flip side. Sort of like the other side of the Moon.

How Leo’s good traits can help in magickal work:

Leo Moon, helps with self-assurance and makes one sort of shine and be ready for the spotlight, if that is what one desires.

For employment and financial matters: Leo’s energy infuses the spiritual work with creativity, optimism. It bestows confidence and the assurance that whatever the goal, it will be well met. It is an excellent sign to work money magick.

In love matters: Helps one to be more passionate. It helps with matters of loyalty and mutual respect in a relationship.

Friendship matters: Leo’s energy helps one to draw friends. Just be careful to weed out the opportunists from the true blue friends.

The best day to conduct Leo’s magick is of course: Sunday.

Optimum colors for spiritual work:  Orange, gold, yellow

When working with this sign, it is also advisable to work protection magick. The same confidence that carries Leo through life, makes them vulnerable. Their love and fondness for the good things in life and how easy money comes to them, allows them to help friends in need. Which in turn makes them easy target from unscrupulous people who might take advantage of their generosity.

Leo’s energy in spell work is powerful, confident, fun. It draws success to spiritual work, as long as we keep a positive outlook. It helps to persevere, and keep working towards the personal goal.

Keywords when working with Leo astrological sign: Going for the gold!

Old Man Winter

victorian-woman-writing-letterDear Reader: Hello and welcome to the first newsletter of this brand new cycle. The holiday rush has finally passed and we are on the brink of a new life adventure.

Old man winter has settled and its comfortable, smoking a pipe. Sitting at his favorite chair close to a window, from which he can watch the world and control these cold days.. and perhaps reading a favorite book. Winter makes us feel as if we want to hibernate and sleep as many hours as we can. It brings a sense of waiting, pausing and putting on hold those goals we have for the new cycle. It gives us time to dream about them. Giving shape to the not yet manifested.

While Winter it’s here, the world seems to be seen from a different lens, a lens that helps to see old-man-winterthrough it, the not distant past of the old year, and have “aha!” moments. Get wisdom from hindsight, and maybe have a laugh or two about the silly things we did, thought or said. It is good to have a sense of humor about our own fallacies. It is healthy to appreciate that human nature being what it is, will makes us do things that in reflection might make us wince at the memory, but also learn from whatever mistake we made. The key here is not to allow ourselves to wallow in “why or why” feelings or self-pity.

The key here, is to: Reflect, Learn, and Move on! There is nothing for it, but just continue the journey, albeit with new knowledge about our own selves, and the world around us.  The world will continue to spin, the sun will continue to shine, and nature to evolve.

January is the threshold into the new cycle. It is the door through which we will walk into the rest of the months. It is not for us to jump mindlessly into the maelstrom of the unknown, but quietly rest, as I mentioned previously, re-set our inner clock, re-charge and wait. Follow your own natural cycle, if the body is asking for rest, then do so. If the mind is restless for lack of a break, then give it one. If the heart feels a bit heavy, a bit disillusioned that the “magic” of the holiday did not stick around, then accept the fact that holiday expectations are set too high. The last month of every year it is only that..another month. Albeit one adorned with holiday celebrations, but that is all. The outward pressure put on this holiday alone, is too much to bear for many, thus creating depression and a sense of helplessness.

hibernationThat is why its important that January is taken for rest and  to reflect. We can still get rid of old junk, cleanse the home, organize our minds, and the clutter around the house. Watch movies with the family, have coffee with friends, bake something you love, and just enjoy this season. With global warming Winter is getting shorter and shorter, why waste it with worries, or stress?

Don’t sweat it if you do not have yet written your goal list. Work on it, as ideas come to you. From lived personal experience, I work on goals as baby steps to getting them manifested. Lesson learned from past stress due to a feeling of not living to my own expectations. Relax those expectations, be kind to yourself and above all know, that no one knows of your personal goal list…only you (unless you have posted the list on all your social media pages, which definitely puts the pressure on). Or don’t make one, the choice is always yours.

Remember..Nature itself is asleep, animals hibernate, and wait for it to awaken. We are part of  the natural cycle of Earth. Lets move with the natural flow, to help us strike a balance between body and the soul, heart and mind.

Until I write again,

Witch’s Gazette- Magickal Newsletter- We are Explorers

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear reader: I am glad to be back here, doing what I love the most! passing along my musings with the hope that it might help or leave food for thought.

We have passed through the threshold of the last year and started out a brand new year. What new things will happen? Will our goals/projects come to fruition? Will awesome things occur? This is just a few of the thoughts that might cross the collective mind, as we dear reader, start to navigate through the uncharted waters of 2016.

If you think about it, we are (in a way) like the explorers of old. Moving through the uncharted waters of this brand new year. Each month, nay! each day is an adventure of sorts. We are the captains and crew of our own life. We have the power to maneuver it the best way we see fit. As the year goes by, we may encounter adventure; going to a place/city/country we have never been before, even if it is another city in our your own country. We might get to start a new job, meet new friends. It could be filled with peril as well. Like leaving off goals before we start to work on them, not fulfilling a promise to your self, not living up to your full potential. Risks are also part of your voyage. Like doing something that you have never done, but something which will bring a sense of completion- checking off the list of things you thought you would never try. Of course there will be like in any journey, moments of self-realization. A sense of doing the right thing when you accomplish what you set out to do, even if these are small. They are your accomplishment nevertheless, be proud of these moments. Remember it is your journey, and you make things happen or not. It is all up to you.

For it is not just one thing that will bring a sense of completion, but many little things, collected through out the entire voyage in a year of our lives. If we set about to reach our desires/wishes/goals with a sense of discovery, then it will help in turn to pay more attention to the life around us. Paying attention to the synchronicity in our own lives. As well as the lives of others that cross our path. This sense of conscious-living will help to find the connections between us and other people; as well as that between us and the world at large. For we are not single beings living a single life, but many beings connected through the collective conscious living a human experience.

OldExplorersCompassMap-long goodbyeIt is your own journey, own it!

Make lovely moments.

Be mindful of your choices, and how you treat others.

Give thanks.

Lend a hand.

Smile, and make someone you like/love smile.

Grown a plant.

Take up a hobby.

Above all be kind to yourself. Make up words or phrases that make you feel good, paste it on your wall, mirror or carry with you. Remember..you are a beautiful soul!

So dear reader..Are you ready for the grandest adventure yet? …

Until I write again,
