Leo New Moon- It’s All About You

Dear Reader: Welcome to another post, from the Witch’s Gazette. We have a brand new Moon this weekend, and the spotlight is on one of the most fun-loving, astrological signs… Leo!

New Moon: Sunday, July 23rd

Moon enters Leo: 1:34 a.m.

Moon and Sun conjunction: 2:46 a.m. PST

The Sun is shining on this sign, backing up Leo’s self-esteem and the Moon is there to soothe hurt egos and assure him/her that everyone loves them.

Leo likes to be the center of attention, draws lots of friends around her/him and loves the good things in life.

They are good-natured, passionate, humorous and cheerful.

The element of Leo: Fire

Quality: Fixed

Day: Sunday

Planetary ruler: Sun

The Sun is a masculine planet.  Will, intent, determination and spirit are some of the attributes of this fiery star. One of the principles of the Sun is to push outward, to radiate, to blast. Whatever the Sun is shining on, it draws attention to it. It makes sense that Leo loves the attention when given and likes to “radiate” good vibes and being cheerful most of the time.

Leo people tend to achieve their goals. No matter what and how long it might take them. They believe in themselves and believe as well, that as long they radiate this confidence, all will be all right. Very generous with the one they love, and friends. Loyal to family. Leos are intelligent, many times intellectual.

Leo loves traveling, expensive things,  friends and having fun.

The flip side of Leo is that, they not like it when things are out of their control. They do not like being lied to (but then again, who likes that?) and this even if they have lied themselves. They might see their omission of telling the truth as a necessary sacrifice to have peace. They are stubborn, do not like being ignored and tend to be self-centered.

Don’t forget dear reader,  each and every sign has its flip side. Sort of like the other side of the Moon.

How Leo’s good traits can help in magickal work:

Leo Moon, helps with self-assurance and makes one sort of shine and be ready for the spotlight, if that is what one desires.

For employment and financial matters: Leo’s energy infuses the spiritual work with creativity, optimism. It bestows confidence and the assurance that whatever the goal, it will be well met. It is an excellent sign to work money magick.

In love matters: Helps one to be more passionate. It helps with matters of loyalty and mutual respect in a relationship.

Friendship matters: Leo’s energy helps one to draw friends. Just be careful to weed out the opportunists from the true blue friends.

The best day to conduct Leo’s magick is of course: Sunday.

Optimum colors for spiritual work:  Orange, gold, yellow

When working with this sign, it is also advisable to work protection magick. The same confidence that carries Leo through life, makes them vulnerable. Their love and fondness for the good things in life and how easy money comes to them, allows them to help friends in need. Which in turn makes them easy target from unscrupulous people who might take advantage of their generosity.

Leo’s energy in spell work is powerful, confident, fun. It draws success to spiritual work, as long as we keep a positive outlook. It helps to persevere, and keep working towards the personal goal.

Keywords when working with Leo astrological sign: Going for the gold!

“Believe in your infinite potential. Your only limitations are those you set upon yourself.”

Celestial Merry-go-Round

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear reader: Welcome to another installment of my weekly newsletter. Next week it’s charged with astrological peril! From a retrograde (Yes, you guessed it..Mercury) to planetary configurations, and solar eclipses. We must harden the intent of keeping as cool as we can, and of course prepare accordingly.

Planets are a funny thing. They do what they want as they see fit. Meanwhile down here on Earth we humans are affected by their energy. Whether on a global scale or a personal one, it does play a bit of havoc on the psyche and life in general.

moderen-metaphysicsTake Mercury for example. How many times have I seen people get stressed out when they realize a retrograde is imminent. Many. Even those who say they do not believe in astrology and/or in anything metaphysical or spiritual etc, are very aware that communications do go awry. Whatever plans are to be put into action, become undone or go really bad indeed. Better put on hold and sit the retrograde through.. in peace. Unfortunately there is no escaping a retrograde. It happens. Its unavoidable. We deal with it. In the best way we can. So we use our smarts and do not begin anything new. Do not (if able) make that trip, do not buy any electronics during this period or get a new car (movement, Mercury). Etc..etc.

knightsfightingAdd to the retro the challenge  which happens between the Sun and two planets, Neptune and Saturn. Not the best of astrological energies when challenging each other. Sun makes things worst, by being its forceful self, and shining all that bright energy onto the taciturn Saturn and the Neptune dreamy energy. Saturn imposes slowness, it does not like to rush. All well and dandy when you want to utilize its energies to make things happen properly so it makes it grow slowly but surely (like investments) but bad really, when square to the Sun. Imagine if you will, two knights of old. Armed to the teeth with all that heavy armor and huge swords, each with its need to be honorable and do the right thing, but stubborn as hell.  Each of them tall and powerful, each maintaining their ground.  The Sun pushes for resolution and Saturn pushes back with its need to wait it out and do things well.  So we get obstacles and things go even slower than usual.

Then Neptune will be in opposition to the Sun..oh dear! Hmm, I see Neptune as another knight, but a female knight.. Yes, she fights if needed, but she would rather find a nice scarf to go with her shining armor suit. She after all is very creative, so every where she goes, she sees possibilities to make it pretty or better if possible, even when is not. So when she is in opposition to the Sun, she sort of dazzles the Sun with her otherworldly beauty while trying to avoid the reality of such power of the Sun. Remember that Neptune  does like to avoid reality and fantasize. She also likes everything of mystery and psychic nature. So while she is trying to convince the Sun to step aside so she can go on her path to… wherever whim might take her, and the Sun trying mightily not to fall to her charm…well we humans get a bit of murky thoughts, forget things, sort of walk in a fog, due to the Sun being engaged otherwise and not helping matters.

argument-cartoonThen when Neptune finally moves away from the Sun, she goes on her merry way to have a square with Saturn..*sigh* This mighty knight is not as easily swayed as the Sun has been. He is a stubborn planet. So they get into an argument. Neptune trying to convince him so and so its true. He almost shouting that she lives in the clouds and needs a dose of reality.  She saying Ay! and he saying Nay! So we humans have conflict. We vacillate in our decisions, we might want to take the easy road, but our minds are telling us that is not the way.

What is a person to do, in the midst of such danger?! OK, I am being melodramatic, and to be honest I poke fun at some things I read about this time being one to lay low…under the radar…What is that? We cannot live our lives hiding from every celestial alignment  and go about our days sayings such things as “We are doomed, doomed! The retrograde nears, hide! avoid…hmm..living your life as normal!”

Yes, dear reader, I know some people are more affected than others by some planet being retrograde and some others are affected by squares and oppositions. But my intent is to bring calm, to an otherwise unstable week ahead. So what must we do? Hmm..

As I mentioned before, prepare accordingly. Do not do things when Mercury is retrograde that go against the energy of the moment. Just take the time, to prepare for when its gone. Reflect on your goals, re-organize. Do not make major decisions that will go awry anyway. By now most are masters at avoiding the “dreaded retro.” Otherwise live life as usual.

As to the opposition and square between Sun, Saturn and Neptune. Do not stress out about something that cannot (I repeat) be avoided. If you find obstacles to your plans in the week ahead (Sun/Saturn) then re-think your strategy, perhaps once you do it, you will realize you can either wait it out or realize maybe is not the best of plans.

If you find yourself being a bit or more forgetful than usual, daydreaming, or distracted in the week ahead (Sun/Neptune), do a mental exercise to bring focus or meditate. Carry grounding stones. Like Hematite or Onyx for example.

Then we still have the conflict between Neptune/Saturn. If you vacillate making a decision, again re-think, change strategy and again…ground and focus.

planetsIn an otherwise everyday routine, one without being aware of the celestial happenings, we do use our logic in times of stress (Hopefully) and re-think our actions and decisions (Ideally). For those of us that perform magickal work, like knights of old, we put on our “spiritual armor” and make sure to protect ourselves in the spiritual. Just in case. Makes sense.

It is true that their influence is felt sometimes more than others. It is also true that it has been happening for many a millennia and it will continue to do so, until we cease to be, and others will inhabit this planet. So perchance dear reader, the best we can do, is to be a bit pragmatic about the whole thing. That may yet be, the best strategy to be able to deal with the natural flow of the Universe.

Until I write again,

Bringing a Sense of Wonder – Color In Magick

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear Reader: Hello and welcome to another post from the Magickal Gazette. As summer nears the end of its season, the sun starts to shine harder as it uses the last of the season’s power.

As I was sitting down, ruminating about summer’s end and preparing to work on my post, I noticed the colors reflected on the wall behind my desk from a small butterfly prism hanging at my balcony window.  The colors making a lovely rainbow through the wall, moving this way and that.  It seemed for a moment, as if the wind and the glass butterfly were playing a game only they knew about.

That brought to mind, a topic I have wanted to explore in this blog. In my previous post I talked about the power of Blue. Now in this one, I want to broaden the range of colors and how it can be used for magickal purposes.

The effect of color on the human psyche and emotions is a well know fact. Like music which  has a range of vibrational ripples that affect the emotions so do colors affect us as well. We even have phrases like:

” I am feeling blue” or “seeing red.” We have come to subconsciously acknowledge the effect of colorscolormagick (2) and this is not something that is a phenomenon of the modern age, but rather goes back centuries. It is believed that occultists created a code, which they could refer to whenever they performed magickal work. The belief in the power of the color red, to name one, goes back to Roman times. Back then, it symbolized the sacred liquid of life and the sacred flame. Silver, was associated with the moon and believed to held power over the astral world and Blue being the color of the sky was associated with divine blessings.

Just as color with its vibrational energy; is used to enhance a living space it can also be used in magickal work. There are various ways to attain the desired effect in any particular magickal endeavor.

The most obvious one is colored bottles,  to store items like blessed water,  incense, oils or even small tumbled stones.

colormagick (3)Lights can be shined through a stained glass and the colored light that comes through it, can be focused on talisman, petition, charm, stone, water etc. Anything you can think of to be charged for magickal work.

For example an oil that is meant to be for money, can be placed in a green bottle and this in turn placed on a windowsill were the light of the Sun and the Moon will shine on it, and empower the oil with their natural energy.

When you empower an item with color as a filter, sunlight is used first as the Sun will imbue the vibratory essence of the color. After which, the Moon light will be used to imbue the metaphysical property of the color.

Other things to take into consideration to charge your items: Moon phase and the season of the year. Both will determine the type of vibratory energy your item receives through the chosen color. Seasons like moon phases each bring their own energy, thus Spring and Summer are for things of growth, Autumn for harvest and Winter for reflection and gathering energy.

The waxing moon, for things of “growth” like plans, income, health (to make it stronger) gain. The waning moon phase is used to work on things we want to diminish (weight loss for example), get rid of and protection, etc.

Prepare accordingly with the days of the week, astrological sign and moon phase. This means that you can choose a day to use the sunlight energy and then wait for the correct lunar phase to finish empowering your item with color on a different day.

Once your item is charged, re-empower each Full moon under the lunar energies.

A short list of color for magick, this is not an all inclusive list. Just enough to start you off.

Gold- success, wealth

Green – Money, growth, renewal, employment,

Purple- Success, wisdom, protection

Red – health, will power

Yellow – intellect, creativity, success

Regardless of how color is utilized in one’s life, whether for magick or just every day living, color has the power to uplift the mood, calm the mind and energize the will power. Like music, color is needed to help us in our human journey.

As I wrap up today’s post, I look up again at the wall and notice the prism lights are disappearing as Earth moves away from the Sun into the afternoon hours. I recapture in my mind the wonder I felt when I first saw the colors earlier on, reflecting the colors of the rainbow.  Like a child watching a prism for the first time, it is that sense of wonder, that we need to keep within our heart, for it is such moments, that help us to see the beauty around us.

Witch’s Gazette – Magickal Newsletter Pub XX

Victorian_woman_at_writing_desk-228x221Dear Reader: Welcome once more to the Witch’s Gazette. A place where you can just sit and relax for enjoyable read.

CURRENT HAPPENINGS:

As consumers in the Millennium, we see new techie gadgets that are supposed to help us with various tasks. Add to that the new advancement in robotic technology (like the drones that Amazon and Google are testing for super fast delivery of goods) The Millennium is populated with cool apps from your phone, which helps to manage your daily routine, to more advanced programed PC’s as well, with voice recognition software  and even your home, with those nifty robotic vacuum cleaners.

While is awesome to be standing at the age of many robotponderstechnological advancements, I wonder how this fits into the present “mind” collective of our planet Earth. Technology advances do not balance well with how we as humans are “growing.” I read somewhere, some time ago, that both of the above are out of whack (to be concise). Which is true. While we strive to understand all the new apps and devices that make our life “better” or “easier.” It is my humble belief, that we are failing to understand a very important component of what being a human being is all about, which is to understand (first and foremost) our fellow beings.

While we are “ooh-ing” and “wow-ing” all the cool things out in the market, we are consistently being at odds with each other. Wars still go on, famine is still a sad reality in some countries. Many are still clinging to outdated ideas, concepts of how other countries are all about, and still maintaining that demeaning “third world” country label and worldview. So, instead of opening up our minds, and learning more about our global neighbors, it seems as if the “mind” collective is becoming more immersed with the “now”, the “right here” which makes us more insular instead of being more broad-minded.

I do love technology advancement and all that it brings in its wake.   I am a steampunk enthusiast. I love the concept of a world into which technology and old style living blend and thrive harmoniously. This is how I see society (in a sense) now. We are very much still old-fashioned in our outlook  but we are surrounding ourselves with things that many don’t understand. We have to constantly be rushing, to be caught up with the newest gadget and the lingo that accompanies such new things. While all this is happening, Earth spiritually and physically is very much at odds with us its inhabitants. It is a maelstrom of actions and emotions aggravated with the need of humans for progress no matter what we squash and destroy in the march to the “future”.

How do we change and when? This is precisely the moment for change. I am not proposing, that you rush to another country to try to understand that culture. I am proposing to start right where you are. The change to happen, has to come from within. That mysterious inner cosmos that is part of the Earth cosmos. How can we understand others when we even don’t know our very own selves? A long time ago, someone I loved dearly (and still do) taught me, that if I wanted to be respected, then I had to give respect. Through her love of gardening I learned to honor other things outside of myself, simple lessons given through her love of all that was nature. Those lessons come to me now, in this time of needed change. We have lost respect not only for each other, but for this planet. It is good to have technology. It helps not only us, but Earth. What we have to find, is a way in which both can live on a balanced frequency. How we will accomplish this, is a journey that is needed for humanity to move forward into true advancement of the soul.

PLANETS AND STARS – A CELESTIAL PEEK AT THE WEEK:

This week we have an unusual combo of celestial happenings, lovely!

We start off the week with Mercury entering Aries at 6:44 p.m. (PST). Mercury as you all know, is the planet of communication. Aries is famous for being impulsive, so be careful of what you say. This combo affects us, in a way  that we may talk before we think. If you have something important to say to someone important in your life, I suggest dear reader, to just chill, and wait it out.

On Tuesday March 31st Mars exchanges the Aries impulsive energies with the more mellow energies of Taurus. But! remember that Taurus is known for its stubborn streak, and Mars is and always will be the warrior planet. It will fight your cause. It will not let you give up! Pick a goal so that their energy can be put to excellent use to add perseverance to achieve success. Mars/Taurus will be with us for 6 weeks! make good use of it while it lasts.

Then we end the week with awesome celestial energies. On Saturday April 4th. we will have a total Lunar eclipse at 5 a.m. (PST). Then the  Libra Full Moon at 5:06 a.m. The Lunar eclipse will be seen globally so for those that like me, are in the West coast, you have to rise pretty early to get a glimpse. There is just a hiccup in this awesome mix. First with a Moon in Libra square with Pluto in Capricorn. It will last about 4 hours. No biggie. Most of us are asleep. Then we have an opposition of Libra Moon and Uranus/Aries. But this one happens exactly when the Moon goes void of course at 8:59 a.m. (PST). My advice is postpone any major plans. Uranus is too wild for my taste (and remember that it co-rules the central nervous system with Mercury..avoid stress!) and Aries doesn’t help matters with its impulsive nature. Just sit tight. It will last four hours. Plan accordingly.

Easter falls on Sunday April 5th as well as Passover…interesting day as both these calendar events concur with Sun square Pluto.  Sun is seen as bringer of life. It needs to shine and helps in matters in which we want to do just that. Pluto on the other hand is the planet of transformation. If there is anything where you are at turmoil, then this planet will bring change. A square is when friction exists between two planets. Once challenges the other. Lets see what this square leaves in its wake.

MAGICKAL TIP OF THE WEEK:

Power of the Planets: MarsPicture 3207

With the spotlight on Aries, the planet of choice for this week is Mars. This planet given its attributes, is perfect when there are obstacles to overcome.

You will need:

A red candle ( it can be a votive candle or a small pillar candle)

Iron nail

Incense: Dragon’s Blood or Cinnamon.

A glass of red berry juice.

Tuesday is the day for Mars. On this day, inscribe your candle with the symbol of Mars, your name and a few words like “Overcome x or y habit” “Overcome all obstacles to success” etc, etc. Whatever it is you need to work on. Hold you candle and think of what you want to achieve. Imagine those obstacles as big rocks or as walls and how they will be brought down. Place on a fire safe container and lit your candle.

Light your incense and pass around the candle and around your glass of juice. Place incense next to the candle.

Place the glass of juice between your hands and visualize energies going into the juice. This drink represents the endurance you need to see your goal through. Drink juice while sitting next to your candle. Gaze at the flame and infuse it with your positive thoughts. Repeat as needed.

Well dear reader, another week has arrived and the third month of the Gregorian calendar is over. With Spring here, many of us, tend to daydream a little and admire the work of Nature. This is the perfect time to sow the seeds of what we want to see accomplished. New goals, old dreams.. with the energy of Mars in Taurus, why not make them come true? Thank you for stopping by for a little read.

I hope to see you next week! same place, same time!

Until I write again!

FRED STEIN Paris 1936

FRED STEIN Paris 1936

Dear Reader:

I hope to find you in good health and of good cheer. Thanksgiving is past and now we are mentally preparing for next holiday onslaught.

PUBLIC HAPPENINGS

December has rolled in, with its wintry days and its promise of hectic times ahead. There was once a time long time ago ( I imagine) that our Yule celebration was actually cherished and respected for what it is supposed to represent. Yule got lost in the Christmas sort of madness as it is today. So what dear reader -you may ponder- is Yule really all about? Now keep in mind, I am not talking about the christian holiday.

wintery cityYULE CELEBRATION

Yule has roots and origin in Pagan customs. This day once commemorated solar deities. Back then, before Christianity had taken over this day, one activity that was performed was the Yule bonfire. The fire was built to give life and power to the Sun, which was thought of being reborn at the Winter Solstice. In later times that fire was converted into what many burn inside their homes, which is the Yule log. According to folklore, a big limb from a tree was cut, brought into the home,  and made ready for use. Carvings of suns, and other magical symbols were etched on its surface and sometimes decorated with greens from the winter season. Lighting the Yule log was simply an effort to welcome the Sun, to persuade it to cast its  healing rays upon the land, so as the winter season was not too long or harsh.

Decorating with evergreens dates back to the earliest winter festivals. They were brought into the home, to give a sense of nature inside of the home during the darkest months of the year. The green did not fade from their branches and leaves, and because of that, they were thought to have power over death and destruction, enough to defeat whatever winter demons roamed the Earth, and enough persistence  to urge the coming of the Sun.

So where does that all gift-giving comes from?  Gift exchange is thought to have originated in Babylonia with Zagmuk. (Although so far I have not found written evidence of such a thing happening during that Babylonian celebration-which by the way took 12 days-) and it gained much popularity during the Roman Saturnalia festivals. In later years, Christians took up this custom as well, but attributed the Magi and their bringing of gifts to the Christ child.

So as you see, the gift exchange idea has really nothing to do with Yule but much to do with everyone back then “borrowing” traditions to suit their own festivals, beliefs etc.  and now sadly has evolved into the much commercialized Christmas season and all the madness it entails. Does this mean we have to refute gift-giving? I think not! but!!! hear me out! (or erh..keep reading) What I mean is that the best gifts are the ones made by hand, by us with love. The one’s we put together for someone we love or appreciate. It can be as simple as a the ingredients for cookies blended in a nice container with an attached card with instructions or a knitted sweater, or blanket. It can be giving a call to your mom, father or grandparent or visiting them and spending time with them.  The joy it will bring is incomparable and the outcome priceless! yes even if it sounds like that commercial! but is not  material things I am talking about here but LOVE. It can be many things that you can think of, from simple to complex, as long as it comes from you, not the store. This is what gift giving is all about and should be about. Resist the impulse to be like the crowd! be yourself, give of yourself.♥

CELESTIAL HAPPENINGS

The celestial energies for this week  are positive and strong. We have planets with Fire and Air element.

Today we have a trine. Sun/Sagittarius with the Moon/Aries. This trine sets the foundation for the change on December 4th (Thursday), when Mars moves into the energy of Aquarius. Their Fire and Air elements combined are a power house indeed! All sorts of communications are fired up (Mars) and taken to a new level of development and transformation (Aquarius).

The Full Moon that will take place on December 6th (Saturday) will have the moon in aspect to Gemini, which brings an emotional drift into the fray. Gemini connecting to Uranus-which is the ruling planet to Aquarius- and this planet being aspected by Mars, is a positive exchange of planetary energies that can be used in our daily lives if we need to tap into them.

Remember! the Gemini Full Moon on Dec. 6th is the last of the year and Full Moons are perfect to bring a closing to past and incomplete projects, and  any other matter that needs to be tidied up.
The mental attitude set by trine of Uranus-Sun and sextile to the Moon, is all about information. So what dear reader does it all mean and how can we tap the energies for this week?

Whatever decisions that need be made that will have a long lasting effect, are best made under the combined energy of Mars/Aquarius. Mars gives you the fire to get you moving, and Aquarius helps discern and analyze the best course of action, thus the best decision for your given situation, lets say. It is definitely an excellent way of avoiding making the wrong decision, or be impulsive.
This combination is very much helpful now, with holiday shopping and spending in full swing. Many do impulse shopping, thinking that it will be all right, that you will be able to take care of those credit bills etc, later on, with that extra bonus from work … don’t let all that Christmas-y music in the mall or the colors of the season (which are very much targeted at customers to pump up the shopping psyche) persuade you to spend with your “heart”! better use the will power and logic that these two energies create to extend both through out the holiday season.

Crystal Ball-Peek@theWeek

Crystal Ball-Peek@theWeek

CRYSTAL BALL – A PEEK AT THE WEEK –

ARIES – This week, look closely at the opportunity presenting itself that exists for the sole purpose of helping you to break free from a tired, tedious, draining scenario. The fact you’re confused about what your next move should be indicates you’ve grown accustomed to something you ought to have released yourself from. Lucky number: 3

TAURUS – Do you feel in some way now, someone might be raining on your parade? Are they perhaps missing a point about something that excites or inspires you? Their inability to see what you see or feel what you feel should not be reason for you to reassess your plans. Don’t give up on something you know to be very good for you. Persevere! the reward will warm your soul. Lucky number: 7

GEMINI  – You might be feeling  frustrated as to why you’re unable to remove a particular train of thought. Look closely. There’s action that must be taken on your part now. This week, take a step forward to initiate it.  With the Full Moon aspecting your sign on Saturday December 6th, comes the perfect time to bring resolution. Give it a try. You’ll discover something shifts in a wonderful way.  Lucky number: 5

CANCER  –  This is a time to summon courage and allow yourself to be pushed in a direction you’ve long needed to be pushed in.  There is something you must do. There is initiative waiting to be taken on your part, even if it might not feel as you have much say about it, as you wish you did. Go for it, get rid of fear, move forward (take advantage of Mars aspecting Aquarius). Lucky number: 5

LEO –  This week, an opportunity presents itself ,  you might not see it as such, but as  a setback.  Expect to discover that what appears to be a setback actually offers much in the way of future hope and promise.  Sometimes we see the opportunity but, because it doesn’t look the way we believe it should  we dismiss it. Don’t! use the energies of this week’s Mars/Aquarius to help you see it clearly. Lucky number: 4

VIRGO – You need to follow your instincts where a destination you’re keen on reaching is concerned. This probably has more to with attainment or achievement rather than arriving at a particular place but the message from the celestial bodies are clear; just keep moving  a plan forward and the rest will take care of itself. That’s a fortunate position to be in. You have momentum working in your favor now.  Lucky number: 2

LIBRA –  It is human  nature to be cautious, especially when we have reason to believe our cautiousness is justified. As you enter into discussion or negotiation in some way now, try to see the situation as a clean slate. The past is not a guide for the future on this occasion. You’re in a strong position now to reach an agreement or at least a compromise that has long needed making. Lucky number: 7

SCORPIO – Don’t feel the need to question or be concerned with the seemingly insignificant light at the end of a tunnel you’ve been staring down for too long.  It serves as a beacon intended to excite and inspire you. Something you’ve long desired is starting to become within reach and allay a few concerns you’ve nurtured for too long as well.  Lucky number: 9

SAGITTARIUS – When change enters our world, we tend to expect it to make a grand entrance. In truth, change can be  more subtly than that. It approaches gently rather than making itself known with a door-bursting appearance. Embrace it. It has every intention of assisting and improving. Make a point of welcoming it and you’ll soon see how fully cooperative it intends to be. Lucky number: 6

CAPRICORN – After the recent months where you felt as if you had been running up a steep hill carrying a heavy sack on your back, things  are now different. What you have worked for, paid up and now you feel you have achieved what you deserve. The coming week brings reasons to excite and inspire you to take on a new challenge. Lucky number: 8

AQUARIUS –  The celestial bodies speaks now of some kind of confidence crisis on your part but particularly how doubtful and even mistrustful you could be toward what your own natural instincts. PISCES –   The timing of the Moon’s return to your income sector on Monday and position here in the early days of the week couldn’t be better, giving you a nose for money as you reach an integral point in your professional year. The Moon’s intuitive edge is as much about where the money is; as it is about where things stand professionally.  With Mercury spending his first full week in your career sector, Venus her last and Jupiter his last full week in direct motion in your work sector, this is not only a chance to get a sense of  how the different pieces are at play on income, work and career fronts but on how they fit in together. Lucky number: 3

MoneyCandleSetUp5MAGICKAL TIP FOR THE WEEK

Moon phase its on the second quarter. A good week to create magick geared towards attracting money.

Simple spells are the best really to create and call that which you desire. The following is a quick money spell that needs but only spices from your cupboard, a candle, a fire safe plate  and some creative thinking on your part as to what you would wish to add to this quick and fun money spell.

Get a small candle. The one pictured in my image is a candle I made for my store for the Thanksgiving holiday. I poured several, for my Ebay listings and left one for me. It was a lovely candle I made in the color of a creamy vanilla, with herbal blend for attracting only good things, money amongst others. With a vanilla aroma, the candle was perfect for my intention.

Get a small votive candle or small container candle. In a color that to you means money. Place your candle on a plate (round or square) that has a fire safe surface.  You can get a nice plate for your candle spells at the Dollar Tree Store or the 99 cent Only stores. No need to splurge, this is a plate that will be useful for many other spells.

You need as well :  1 teaspoon of each : Allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger. Combine spices, empower and bless.  Pull together all the change you have in your home, including dollar bills.   Empower your candle for money, inscribe symbols of money around it, dress with money oil (if you have any at hand. In a pinch a bit of cooking olive oil or corn oil will do as substitute)  and set in the middle of your plate. surround with ornaments from the season, place money as well (coins and dollars). As you see on my picture, I added cinnamon stick, I love using these for money spells, as they can be carried afterwards in your purse. Add them if you wish to your spell set up.

Sprinkle all of it, with your combined spices.  Now place your hands over the lot, and empower with your intention of calling money. Be specific with your goal. Light your candle. I personally place my money candles on top of my dining table. This area has a lot of good, concentrated energies and it is a good power point in my home.  Plus it is within view, so that it is never alone when burning.  Remember wherever you place your candles, never leave them unattended and always away from pets and children.

Once your candle is done, get rid of wax or container (you can clean up container and use for other money candle spells). Clean up your plate as well, to be re-used in other spells.  Place your ornaments in a pretty container in your living room or dining room, so that it always drawing money energies to you during the holidays. Use your money to get something needed in the home (bread, milk, etc) and know that your petition will show fruit! Happy spell-castings!

Witch’s Gazette-Magickal Newsletter- Pub II

ink and butterflyDear Reader:

Greetings,   I hope to a find all in good health and humor. I have been looking forward to the second publication of my humble newsletter and without further ado,  let me walk you down the hallways of my musings.

PUBLIC HAPPENINGS:

Alas! Thanksgiving is around the corner now. Despite efforts to avoid certain members of family, many had to give in to familial obligations and are preparing to visit or receive in your homes the aforementioned persons. Even though am fortunate enough to have the bulk of most of my family far away, I have nevertheless found myself trapped in “virtual” nattering with various weird denizens of the family tree. Misfits and  ne’er-do-wells the bunch… Oh! ok, maybe not that, but weird sometimes and many of them strangers now, from so many years of being blessedly on the other side of the map.

FAMILY MATTERS

This is a time, when we realize we have a lot in common with other families. We are after all, of the same combined human race. Unless you are absolutely certain your ancestors are from the Sun and you are just waiting for the next planetary alignment to open the portal for the rescue spaceship, then of course you are different…But the rest of us dear reader, share similarities.  Like the grouchy old aunt or uncle that delights in prophesies of bad weather, asking all the single members of the family when are they going to get married.  A time as well for the delight of going food shopping to places where havoc and mayhem is found, (read: supermarkets) with many running around the aisles looking for last minute ingredients and trying to find a VERY small turkey with a VERY small price tag.  What to do in the midst of so many electrifying energies flying around? Try  breathing exercises  (really dear reader! it works wonders for the mind and the soul) and squeeze in a 10 minute daily meditation. I assure you, your peace of mind is worth the time for self-soul-pampering.

HEAVENLY HAPPENINGS

4TH  and last week of November

Mercury conjunction with Saturn/Scorpio on Tuesday November 25th at 6:37 p.m. PST.  Saturn the disciplinarian connects with Mercury the communicator and thinker.  You can use the time to clean up the mental litter and be ready for fresh  influence on Thanksgiving (Thursday Nov. 27th) with Moon in aspect to Aquarius. With Thanksgiving comes the time when we have to play a part on family traditions. The question asked and amplified by the Aquarian Moon is do we keep at them, just so we don’t disappoint family? or because we like being part of those traditions? Aquarius urges us to question and also try new alternatives.  With Mercury going into Sagittarius (6:26 p.m. PST) it makes Thanksgiving a good day for celebrations and get together, making us feel the expansion and joviality of both Jupiter and the sign it rules.

THRIFTY COOKING:

Autumn cooking brings out the need for comfort, home-made  foods.  I love to bake potatoes and top with chopped steamed broccoli, and cheese sauce. I also love cooking time saver recipes and even more so, if I don’t have to spend much in creating filling and delicious dishes. Here is my time/money saver…

Cheese Sauce:

Melt 2 TBS unsalted butter in a saucepan/

Blend in 2 TBS of flour.

Combine with 1 cup of milk (low fat, regular or lactose-free)

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Cook until sauce thickens. Add a half cup of  grated cheddar cheese and cook until smooth.  You can freeze any surplus. Add on your steaming hot veggies.

Bon Apettit!

B-witch 2MAGICKAL TIP FOR THE WEEK:

With the New Moon of November 22nd, the energies are just ripe to create spells that draw things to us. After last week’s spiritual cleansing your home is ready for some good old fashioned spell-castings, but are you as well ready for it? Before you attempt to write that petition, light that candle and call in energies of manifestation, you need to take a physical cleansing. Even if you do believe yourself ready, think again!

We come in daily contact with many people. All of whom have their own energies to share with us. The advice I give is, take a spiritual bath or shower, before you do your magickal work. It will revitalize your aura and make your personal vibes and frequency be on par with your soul’s intention. It can be as easy as taking a baking soda bath or as elaborate as preparing yourself a bath tea with herbs that match that of the spell you want to work on. Neither one is better than the other. It is the intent behind the act, that matters.  Do not despair dear reader if you do not have a bath tub, and only a shower stall. You can use a plastic pail/bucket that will be used only for your magickal baths.  It is also a matter of personal preference.  Here is the quick and convenient baking soda bath. It works wonders, cleanses your aura of any spiritual debris,  softens your skin and makes you feel good all over.

Give a good cleaning to your bathtub. Fill with warm water, light a candle if you like and place in a fire safe container in your bathroom. Add about 1/2 cup to the water. Get in and relax. Let go of the stress, focus on letting go of negative thought forms and feel the water purifying body and soul. Stay in the tub for 9 minutes minimum. 18 mnts. maximum.

If you are using the bucket bath, then shower first and at the end of your shower, bring in the pail into the shower stall, and rinse yourself with this prepared baking soda water from your head down. The ratio of baking soda for a bucket of water is 1/4 cup.

You are now ready to do your spell casting. If doing a candle spell, add a white candle to your candle set up to bring a protection to your spell and to your self. Happy Spell-casting!

As I am winding down preparing to close this week’s newsletter, I wonder dear reader, where might you find yourself while you read my musings? Are you perchance a traveler of the wide roads, taking a deserved break in a far from home Diner, sitting at a booth, with smart phone or lap computer at hand, while you sip a cup of coffee? Are you a housewife, taking a few minutes respite perhaps in your room,  with your feet up, resting on near-by chair? Are you a single parent, struggling to make ends meet, grateful of a few minutes break? A student or a teacher? Nurse, or nurturer? Whomever you are, and wherever you might find yourself at this moment, I want to say thank you for reading this humble offering, for taking the time to read through it. Perhaps I might leave you with a smile on your face, a thought in your mind. If I have, then my job is done for the moment.  I give thanks for that and for you. I wish you a beautiful Thanksgiving, may it be filled with laughter, good food, good companionship. Whether a dinner of one or many.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope to see you next week! same place, same time!

Until I write again!
